The research unFOLDS within the context of the avant-garde, a transient yet influential force that challenges the foundational tenants of modernity, perpetuating a continuous cycle of short-lived movements.
Fashion has functioned as a catalyst of avant-garde innovation in architecture. Emphasizing the role of fashion, a prevailing agent of change, this research illustrates how architecture can embody impermanence and EPHEMERALITY.
The project contends that the transient nature of fashion and its subsequent transformation into commodifiable goods shed light on the multifaceted dimension of architectural design and constructed production.
The study seeks to UNRAVEL the intricate dynamics of luxury fashion and architecture expositions. Abstracting production of clothing and projecting that to the construction of these spaces.
The idea will be delivered through constructing a temporary fashion exhibition space on the site of Palais de Tokyo in Paris. I will explore a performed transformation of the pieces that construct the space to a formal and permeant context. The surfaces become objects which character and fashion remain.
Advocating for a reevaluation of the practice and production, the process urges for a conscious and SUSTAINABLE relationship between architecture and the evolving landscape of the avant-garde. The architecture is associated with transience and deconstruction. Yet what has been created is a permeant product with inherent character.
In short, I have designed a temporary space for the fashion exposition that addresses the cyclical and wasteful productions. I made the surfaces disassemble to become objects with function and character, reusing architecture with purpose.
