Through urbanistic approach, a masterplan competition selected the forms of the basis of the design. Our winning masterplan took the contextual elements to guide the arrangement and division of the building masses for the two future users, while connecting the an open space plan. The tower is positioned at the Southern axis of the site to anchor the concentration of ministry spaces. The tower also plays an important fixture into the skyline, as the footprint and rise pleasantly compliment the surroundings.
A theme of connecting the government district to a nature filled landscape created an opportune moment to continue the “Blaugruner Ring” from the city to the site. A green way and linear pond bleeds into the site from the existing ones that lay near the site. This would redistribute traffic to the Southern edge of the site, where entrance to the facilities can occur and have direction from the motorways. The Pedestrian experience will be heightened as visitors and residents can stroll through greenspaces and welcoming nature of the buildings. A axis that runs NE canyons the tower from the bank building foot print. This is another pedestrian axis on ground level that is guided by the pedestals of both buildings.
